British South Asian artist Shay Khan recently released new single ‘In Love^2’, a song about falling in love and not wanting to die during a pandemic.

‘In Love^2’ takes you on a meditative trip of love and trance-like daydreams. It’s a soothing bedroom pop track that blends delicate acoustic guitar with a sitar-like riff, which accompany Khan’s beautifully serenading vocals.

“Love really has the power to save you, especially when it feels like the end is inevitable,” Khan says, reflecting on the inspiration behind the song. “When I had COVID-19 and I couldn’t breathe, my crush kept me going and saved my life.”

Thinking about their hopes for the song, Khan says “Even though the song and love I feel may never reach the person it was meant for, at least it will keep growing and live on by travelling into the ears and hearts of the strangers it moves.”

‘In Love^2’ by Shay Khan is available to stream on all major platforms. You can also support Shay Khan on Bandcamp.
